Sarah-Jane Kenyon, newest addition to the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) tour visited Valencia Community College (VCC) and gave a press conference for the news reporting students.
The 24 year old Australian born golfer began playing golf at the age of 12.
Kenyon’s professional American career began in 2005 in the Duramed Futures tour, where she won the tour’s 2005 tournament in Tampa, FL.
Her golf game began to slip with poor showings in 2006 and 2007, before returning with an eight place in 2008’s Duramed Futures season money list.
Kenyon attributes the selection of Phil Ritson as her new swing coach in July, as well as her discovery and treatment of Celiac disease as significant factors to her recent improvements on the course.
“Up until that point, last year my gulf was terrible, he’s defiantly a big help.”
Celiac disease is a digestive disease that damages the small intestine and interferes with absorption of nutrients from food. Gluten, a protein in wheat and some medication is the primary irritant.
